BUILSA N: Assembly organizes forum to improve BECE

Mr. Bonaventure Adangabey
The Builsa North District Assembly has held a one-day educational forum with Stakeholers to address the falling performance of Basic Education Certificate Examinations (BECE) in the area.

Speaking at the forum, the District Chief Executive, Mr. Bonaventure Adangabey bemoaned the dwindling nature of basic education in the area and called for a much consented effort among all stakeholders to help improve on the situation.

He described the current trend of education as alarming and highlighted factors such as poor motivation for teachers and inadequate infrastructure as some major causes.
He said, regardless of the fact that assembly has done enough to improve teaching and learning in the area, it was still making efforts to introduce some intervention programme like offering support for needy but brilliant and teachers to help improve the situation.

He said, the assembly is also looking to sponsor mock examinations to get candidates fully prepared for subsequent BECE.

Mr. Adangabey however, urged parent and other stakeholders to perform their roles in sending their wards and properly monitor their schooling to deter them from being truants.
